Mexican Tri-Coloured Banded Calcite Alien with Malachite Eyes [1k1532]

Calcite is a common carbonate mineral; a relatively soft stone that is white or colourless, although it can occur in shades of grey, red, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown, or even black can occur due to impurities.

Tri-Coloured Banded Calcite occurs in shades of white/cream, brown/black, red/orange and green, with the colouring and banding varying depending upon hematite impurity content.  This particular piece is from Durango, Mexico.
