Larvikite Skull [1k1378]

Larvikite is a course grained, Feldspar rich igneous rock known as a 'Monozonite', named after the Nordic Larvic Fjord region where the stone was originally found.  This grey black mottled stone can display the Schiller Effect; an optical phenomena where a metallic sheen and/or iridescent colour can be seen on the surface of the stone at certain angles, and in the case of Larvikite, a silver and/or blue sheen can be observed.  This national stone of Norway has been used throughout history as a building and an ornamental stone and continues to be used for this purpose today.

Larvikite is an energy cleansing stone for establishing and maintaining balance in one's life.  To experience the human condition is to know the spectrum of human emotions, desires, wants and fears.  To experience the human condition with grace is to know that all light has a shadow, and the two are inexorably connected and intertwined.  You cannot know one without the other.  You take comfort in knowing that is the way of things.  Keep Larvikite close to your person for calm and acceptance in all manner of circumstances.
