Petrified Palm Root Skull [1k1372]

Petrified Palm Root is a specific type of Petrified Wood derived from the fossilisation of the Indonesian Palm Tree.  Petrified Palm Root is a distinctly contrasting brown/tan and black coloured Chalcedony.  This material is formed over millions of years with significant heat and pressure, to turn the Indonesian Palm Tree to stone. 

Petrified Wood is wood or tree matter that has fossilised over an extended period of time (where minerals replace the original organic matter whilst retaining the structure) to turn to stone.  For the fossilisation process to occur, the wood or tree material needs to be deprived of oxygen, such as being covered by sediment, and also needs exposure to mineral rich water flow.  Petrified Wood occurs worldwide, with certain locations producing very defined and identifiable specimens.

Petrified Wood is associated with the lower root and sacral chakras.  Petrified Wood is a grounding stone particularly effective to have around if you are one who is easily distracted, whimsical and/or indecisive.  Working with your Petrified Wood in meditative practice can assist with goal setting and planning, as well as developing the requisite mental attitude to get tasks done with purpose and presence.
