Indian Agate Dragon Skull [1k1398]

Indian Agate is from the Chalcedony group of stones defined by their microcrystalline structure.  Agate is generally translucent to semi-transparent and Indian Agate comes in a range of colours and colour combinations, including green, pink, orange yellow and red, with green being the most common colour.  This particular carving is primarily green with pink features.

Agate is a grounding stone, said to be particularly useful in deep meditative practice to assist with self confidence and one's stability in the world; that is having a deeper understanding of one's place and value, irrespective of the goings on with other people.  Agate can be metaphorically akin to your supporting foundation stone in this respect.

More specifically to Indian Agate and the particular colouring of this stone, one can take this further in deep meditative practice to add a greater level of self love and compassion to your daily existence.  We are not always the people we want to be, sometimes we are exactly what we do not want to be.  This is the human experience.  We keep working at the things we can change and hope for the grace to accept what we cannot.  Until you draw your last breath, it is not over.

This particular carving is of a dragon, specifically its skull.  The strength, power and prowess of the mythical dragon is legendary.  The symbolism of this style of carving is for those who feel the fire of the dragon in their being, or want to capture that feeling.
