Strawberry Quartz is a variant of Quartz, obtaining its deep red colour from Hematite, Goethite and/or Lepidocrocite inclusions in the crystalline structure.  The consistency of the colour of Strawberry Quartz is dependant upon the volume of inclusions, and the look can vary significantly from what looks like a light sprinkling of reddish to pink inclusions in clear quartz to an almost solid maroon orange colour.  Strawberry Quartz is relatively uncommon and found in limited areas worldwide including Russia, Kazakhstan and Brazil.  Strawberry Quartz is not be confused with synthetic dyed red glass which goes by the same name.
